Between 42nd and 43th St on 9th Ave, you will find a small, yet attractive and new, Thai Restaurant called @9. The ambiance is very nice, and trendy, but still very much like most trendy Thai restaurants in Midtown Manhattan. The service is elegant, and very friendly and fast. The menu is something different, as they have very special dishes. The noodles are especially great, so tasty! The lunch special is a treat, for just $6.99, you will get an appetizer, a beverage, and an entrée. The fried chicken dumplings are lovely and the minced chicken with veggie steamed dumpling is even better! They serve the Thai ice tea in the most authentic and adorable glass. And guess what? It’s not just a great value; the taste is very badass and flavorful, how they play with all these delicious Thai ingredients! The pad see eeuw is dazzling. I ordered another flat noodle dish and it is also amazing, I ordered the recommended chicken breast meal, with Thai flavored rice, which was yummy. However, when I ordered the salmon, which was also recommended, I notice they used the same simple sweet chili sauce for both dishes, not so special at all! The salmon is nice and moist and served with two veggies. For dessert, this pumpkin custard is actually very yummy! I grade @9 with 8 out of 10! I do hope they grow and stay in the lovely neighborhood!
